“Women & the Sea” Martha’s Vineyard, 9/30/17
Cross-dressing? Heroic young girls saving manly men on storm-tossed seas? Beautiful women luring unsuspecting sailors to their doom?
All of these subjects and more will be the focus of my performance this Saturday, September 30 at the Oak Bluffs Public Library in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard.
“Women and the Sea” is a program that focuses on women’s roles in maritime songs that offers an engaging and informative look at the often overlooked and varied roles and experiences of women in Maritime songs and ballads.
