This Saturday, A Bit Closer To Home
This Saturday, March 2 I’ll be the featured artist at the Pioneer Valley Folklore Society’s Song and Story Swap.
It was 21 years ago that I re-located to New England from California and landed in the third largest city in Massachusetts, Springfield. I found the Song and Story Swap sponsored by the Pioneer Valley Folklore Society and began attending. Once we moved to central Massachusetts (and I was traveling a lot more) my attendance dropped off.
Last year, my good friend, Jerry Bryant was the featured artist and I decided to drive out to Amherst to hear Jerry. It was a lovely performance and after the evening was over, I approached Paul Kaplan and Jeff Lee about doing a featured slot.
If you are in Western Massachusetts, come on out to the Nacul Center and share a story, a song or just listen. It’s great fun.
