Stand With Bandcamp For Trans Rights
I have been using the Bandcamp music platform for quite a few years now and I am very pleased with the service that they provide. Through them, I am able to sell my recordings and individual tracks, many of the latter that are not included on albums. It is also through them that I am able to provide free full-album downloads and I also enjoy a presence among some excellent musicians.
When opening my email this morning to find this announcement from Bandcamp, I was moved and felt a surge of pride that I am affiliated with such a great organization:
This Friday, for any purchase made on Bandcamp, we will donate 100% of our share of the proceeds to the Transgender Law Center, who support and protect trans rights on multiple fronts. Please read more about why we’re doing this, and help us spread the word.
I have many friends who happen to be trans and I support them as I would support anyone who I care about. The fact that our leadership here in America seeks to force our trans brothers and sisters back into the shadows is a disgusting display of cruelty.
Even if you don’t purchase my music, please consider a purchase from Bandcamp this Friday, August 4, 2017. Bandcamp will be donating 100% of their share of sales to the Transgender Law Center, a nonprofit organization that works tirelessly to change law, policy, and culture for the more equitable treatment of our trans brothers and sisters in all aspects of society.
You can get to Bandcamp by clicking this link that will take you to my profile. From there you can find other music to purchase to help in this important cause.
Thank you Bandcamp and thank YOU for standing up to cruelty and discrimination.
