No-Shows
I use Freecycle, a great network for recycling items that should not go into the landfill. I think it’s a fantastic way to get rid of stuff and I have certainly offered up many more items than I have taken.
The no-shows are becoming quite a problem. In the last five or six offers, I have people who email and say “Yes! I can come by and pick-up”. They say when, I email them the logistics and then they don’t show up.
This causes a huge problem. On Worcester Freecycle, once you offer something you cannot offer the same item again for another two weeks. The moderators are pretty strict about this and no-shows, though not a life-threatening issue, do cause a bit of inconvenience.
Please. If you commit, follow through.
