The Standing “O” Project
Be a Tip Jar Hero and help support the artists and the music on The Standing “O” Project!
What’s a “Tip Jar Hero”? It’s part of an exciting new project called “The Standing “O” Project and I have just joined. When you become a Tip Jar Hero, you help musicians such as myself get paid for doing what we love: making music. I am in some amazing company at Standing “O”! Not only are many of my good friends there, folks like Tret Fure, but there are also quite a few folks who have been musical inspirations for me over the years like Richard Thompson and Judy Collins.
What’s really cool about these folks is that musicians earn money from visits to their profiles on Standing “O”. You can think of it as crowd funding without the musicians having to beg for the money. The model works on a tip jar concept: when you visit a profile you’ll be asked to contribute to the “tip jar”. Some of the money goes to the artist, some of the money is donated to The International Folk Alliance and some goes to the Project itself.
You can click on the logo above to check out the Standing “O” Project. Once you are on the wesbsite you can find out more about it. If you click on an artist’s name, Debra Cowan for instance, a window slides down asking if you want to be a “Tip Jar Hero”. This is how everyone gets paid.
