GREETINGS!
Spring has finally come to New England with some nice mild temperatures and the Red Sox handing us a mixed bag of wins and losses. Early days yet as far as baseball is concerned.
John Roberts and I had a fantastic tour in the UK. We seemed to cover a lot of English and Welsh real estate, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. It was more evident than ever that the British economy has been hit hard by the recession: tales of many folks being laid off and UK gas prices at the US equivalent of almost $9 a gallon. We did, however enjoy fantastic receptions at all the folk clubs where we performed.
One highlight of the tour was being Guest Lecturers at Leeds City College, courtesy of our friend Nigel Schofield who is an instructor there. After a Q & A with Nigel, the session was then opened up to questions from the students. These students asked some of the best questions that I have ever heard and they seemked to not only be engaged in our responses, but also enjoyed the mini-concert we gave after the Q & A. The changes at MySpace have gotten to the point where the site is becoming difficult to manage, so I’ll be shutting it down in the next few weeks. My Facebook page is up to 3500 friends and I will probably close the profile and just have the Debra Cowan Music page up on FB. If you are on Facebook click the link to “like” Debra Cowan Music.
