Come On Down to Norfolk, MA, Friday August 26th!
If you couldn’t get seats for Martin Carthy’s house concert in Newton on the same evening, this is a nice alternative.
Some of the most rewarding performances that I do are house concerts. I love them because they are a way for me to connect with people in an intimate space without the distractions of a large venue. They are also a place where no one is turned away for lack of money and 100% of the donations go to the performer. It’s a win-win for everyone; the musician usually makes enough money to equal a fair wage and the audience is treated to an evening of quality music for a reasonable price.
This Friday, August 26th, I’ll be performing in a house concert in Norfolk, Massachusetts. I’ll be splitting the evening with my good friend, Nova Scotia-based musician, Bob Ardern. There will be a potluck meal at 6:00 and the music will be start at 7:30 PM. Click on the poster to the left to get all the details.
Listen to “Zephyr” from Bob’s newest recording, “Eight Winds”.
Our host, Deb DiMartino has an unusual home. She calls it Deb’s Cave because it is called an “elevational earth sheltered house” (aka “underground”) thus a man-made cave. The house is fully accessible for any of our disabled friends who would like to come and hear some great music. The pic is of the front of the house.
A Facebook event has been created HERE and we hope to see you this Friday, August 26th at Deb’s Cave in Norfolk, MA!
